what do we do without forums

What I really think about my Y-net buddies, well, I think many of them are enviromentalists of some type and they seem to have a wide knowledge of wildlife, ranching, and politics. Many of them hunt so they are against gun laws. Timmyfan calls this type "tree lovers" and she cant stand the type because they tend to be the "save the world" type of people when certain species are doomed to extinction. At least thats what I got from that. But these people are the rugged outdoors type, they go to Yellowstone more than once a year, and really have a lot more to post.

Me on the other hand, I am typically a city girl. I know nothing about wildlife or ranching except from others' posts, I hate guns and would be for gun laws, and I am not an enviromentalist. I study volcanoes so you know where I come from. Other than a love for Yellowstone, we have so little in common. I'm not really the outdoors type because I hate bugs and animal droppings. I have only been to Yellowstone once in my lifetime; I would go more often if I lived close by. I really have got to take Timmyfan to Yellowstone someday. She would have a field day looking at all the wildlife.

But then I have been wanting to go to Idaho Falls for the past 5 or 6 years and it never has been done. Although last year, I almost had a chance until we started talking about actually moving to Bozeman and went there instead. Dont get me wrong, I had a great time and we saw what we wanted to see.

I am trying a new forum, allnurses.com, Many of them are professionals and already have nursing degrees and one section for students. I can learn from them even though I am not in nursing school yet. But prepare myself for nursing school thats what I need. I have also been visiting numerous sites for nurses with disabilities and some includes mentors and support groups. Its a way for disabled nurses to get together because they are so totally misunderstood in the workforce. The workforce has not recommended that disabled people become nurses so a lot of nurses have to lie and hide their disability just to get a job and keep it. Although I have done such things myself, its just not right.

We got a cool GPS for Christmas and we really love it. We took it on a trip to Oregon yesterday and it really gives accurate directions and tells you where to go. Its a wonderful invention that I am proud to have. It sure beats asking for directions because they are usually not clear and most people you ask dont know. Like that time we went to Bozeman and stayed overnight in Missoula. We was trying to look for a certain hotel and I asked someone at a convenient store for directions. It wasnt that clear and we ended up way out of town. It took a long time to actually find the place. If we had a GPS then, we could have avoided that.

We call her Samantha, the voice on the GPS.

Happy Holidays

I want to wish everybody a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year. I had been very busy this year, mostly trying to get myself into Bozeman now that I got accepted. Next year though will probably be the same, except that I will be attending school there and actually be there. Its gonna be hard being there without Odessa for 4 years, but lets see what happens first.
Well, anyway, Be safe.

sports fans

My friends on Facebook, well, thats a different story. They are also my Y-net buddies, although I havent seen one of them on the Y-net in a long time. I know that mtgirl is having a baby and we are all waiting for the day to come when it is finally born. She has got to take some pics of it.
And there is kalamitykatie...dont get me wrong, she is a very sweet person and I like having her as a friend on Facebook and Y-net. She knows what she is saying and she is very straightforward with her opinions. But lately, on Facebook, I have been responding to much less of her posts because she talks more these days about her Griz football games than anything I would be interested in. I try to be nice by pretending to be intersted...in a more humorous way. I have no problem with her being a sports fan if thats what she wants to be.
I do have to admit, some things about it is kind of cute; like that slogan that pops up all the time. I think it goes something like "Up with Montana boys, down with the foe! And the squeal of the pig will float in the air of the tummy of the grizzly bear!" The word pig is sometimes replaced with another animal or team name. At first, I thought Katie made it up. It would have to be the most creative thing she ever came up with. But every week this phrase gets posted on my wall.
And there was that time I think it was about a few weeks ago, Missoula played Bozeman, my future school, and I was kind of joking with Katie telling her that I think we are rivals. She really didnt say anything back but when I mentioned that it was just a game, well, she kind of rephrased my statement.

I dont hate it, I'm just not a sports fan. IMO, its just a game, although Katie thinks its the battle of the century. Most sports fans do believe that. I use to play baseball when I was a kid and I use to watch football games with my dad (I was a regular tomboy growing up). I just dont go for this competition thing. I would just play for the fun of it, not to beat someones brains out because my team is better.

birthday today

Well, it is my birthday today and I am really excited. I am hoping to go out to the casino for dinner and also see 2012 at the movies. I heard so much about it that I am dying to see it. And also shop for a present too, and come home for cake and ice cream. YUMMAH!!!!!!!

I am trying to make this birthday a special one for me. This may be in fact the last birthday I will even get to spend with my family. I will be in Bozeman next year, and I wont be home on my birthday anymore. I will probably be getting ready for finals at that time. It will probably be very lonely for me spending my birthdays alone, but at least I can go into town and do whatever I want to do and stay out as late as I want. Well, maybe not too late. I dont want to worry anybody to death.

So lets make this one as memorable as we can.

It depends how you look at it.....

Here is something of real particular interest.

http://billingsgazette.com/news/state-and-regional/montana/article_16e6f9e4-d9fb-11de-b842-001cc4c002e0.html

Remember Huey Lewis the 80s rock star? I had no idea he had ties to Montana.

But anyway, a lot of my Y-net buddies are hunters themselves and this kind of act would make them mad. Whats actually happening is that the wealthy are using public lands and keeping the peasants out. Huey Lewis and some of his neighbors are placing feeders around their property to attract ducks, causing duck season to close for hunters mainly because the ducks are very close to people's homes.

I am not a hunter myself. I wouldnt hunt unless its for survival. I think my Y-net buddies do it as a sport or something to do to pass the time away. These Montana guys are really tough and rugged. But I like ducks. I wouldnt really hunt them unless my family was starving.

Way to go, couer de bois!

Oh boy! this is the last straw. Wolfmtnlady is really getting bold now. She said this to couer de bois:

Ya don't like what I say, don't read my posts!

You know what I think? I think that wolfmtnlady is a child or at least a 20 year old. She is a very ignorant person.

What can I tell you, couer de bois really let her down:

As long as you keep writing uninformed, uneducated, untruthful and highly biased comments about my home and neighbors, I will keep reading your posts, and countering your ignorance with facts and truth. If you don't like me always slamming your posts, you should try to write something that is not based solely on your uninformed and bigoted opinions.

I'm telling ya, these Montana guys can really lower the boom on you. I am not sure if this is gonna keep wolfmtnlady from the forum. I think she comes on here to stir up trouble.

Way to go, couer de bois! Thats telling her.

wildlife woes

Dear God, I love my Y-net forum, but some people on there can really be a pain in the butt. Such as the case with wolfmtnlady.
She has been a problem on the forum for some time. This time she is putting down everyone but herself. This is in response to a story about a man in Alaska who shot down 3 grizzlies, but his case was dismissed because it was an act of self defense, and everyone on the forum is angry about it. But wolfmtnlady is making accusations like this:

Very sad, and he is a POS for a human. But it is Alaska, they care nothing about wild life in Alaska, sorta like Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, they have it all, but could care less, just want to kill, kill, kill.....

I will admit that Palin may have a field day with this. But this forum has a lot of Montana and Wyoming residents that dont want to hear this crap.

How could she know about wildlife anyway? She's from Arizona.

Let me say one thing: states like Alaska, Montana, Wyoming and Idaho have less people and more wildlife. They would have nothing to do but save the wildlife in those states. Its all they got.

At least someone on the forum makes sense, like couer des bios (I'm not sure I spelled it right). He's cool and knows what he's saying. He's from Livingston, and who would know more about wildlife than someone who lives closer to the park:

Thats pretty unfair to say that,

"they care nothing about wild life in Alaska, sorta like Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, they have it all, but could care less, just want to kill, kill, kill"....

First, All the states you mentioned are the last hold outs for alot of species. Grizzlies, wolves, mountain lions, elk, and buffalo lived in alot of states in the 1800's. But, people in those states KILLED OFF ALL THOSE SPECIES! I'd say locals in the states you mentioned care more about wildlife, then most people in other areas....because we actually share an ecosystem with them, and get to watch and appreciate them regularly. Most people in the urban centers of this country could care less about wildlife, or ever even think about them. But, Go to any social event in Montana or any of the states you mentioned and wildlife will be a large part of any discussion thats going on.

Second, Why do you always fail to mention your own state of Arizona? As I have posted previously there are tons of poachers, and game law violaters down there- read the news. Arizona is filled with redneck, whacko, animal killers. Why not save your insults for your own damned state....because, it seems to me that they apply more to AZ and alot of other places than they do for Montana!

Thats telling her dude! But you know what, I said what I think about the people in this state when it comes to wildlife:

I am not sure if I can agree with either one of you. I would love it if my state would think about wildlife for once. We have lots of wildlife here, but I have seen more people trying to kill off all types of wildlife in WA than in MT. People are too damn busy here to think about saving wildlife. Makes me mad. Too many urban areas.

Want more wacko animal killers, they live here. Thats why my state's starting to suck.

It does sound a little bit much but it is true. I have the feeling that my family are the only ones in this state that cares about saving wildlife. But with all these big cities we have here, people kill animals and laugh about it. THAT REALLY MAKES ME MAD!!!!!!

Jack Horner on Sixty Minutes

Here is something of real particular interest.

Horner, Schweitzer scheduled to appear Nov. 15 on 60 Minutes

BOZEMAN -- A "Sixty Minutes" segment featuring Montana State University paleontologist Jack Horner and former MSU graduate student Mary Higby Schweitzer is scheduled to air Sunday evening, Nov. 15.

Meghan Frank, a producer for the CBS TV magazine, said the date is "pretty definite," although major late-breaking news could postpone the air date.

The piece will focus on Horner, his discoveries and his unorthodox approach to thinking about dinosaurs, Frank said. The segment will also feature Schweitzer, her work with Horner and her discoveries from an Eastern Montana dinosaur originally nicknamed "B. rex." The 68-million year-old dinosaur yielded protein, soft tissue, blood vessels and tissue typical of a female bird.

todays fun

Well today I went out to help a lady who was delivering papers. I am really serious about getting that job and I want it. Hopefully it will help us through the holidays. The only thing is that I may have to quit when I get back to school, but its gonna happen anyway. I am graduating this year....finally, and hoping to make it to Bozeman next summer. I will have to work real hard to keep those grades up. I dont ever want to make another mistake like I did 20 years ago.

Anyway we went all over town delivering papers, even to places I have never heard of and seen parts of this town I never knew existed. It is really amazing that this person could really pay 70 dollars a day for this kind of work. Now I dont know if I will be working everyday all day, since I only put in for part time, but any little bit helps.

racism sucks

Racism really sucks. I just cant imagine that people would hate so much just because they are not white. And what is this thing that white is "the right color?" If they would think for a minute where they REALLY came from....who would know? Either they dont know or dont want to know.
I am writing this because I heard on internet radio where a team of white supremacist group was going to invade Bozeman (it was Bozeman radio that I heard it from). This makes me mad because this is what I gotta look forward to. I heard some people calling on the radio saying "dont bring crap into our town." I said that I agree with them. I definately dont want those kinds of groups invading Ocean Shores, or any town for that matter, especially one that I plan to attend school in. Stay out of Ocean Shores and leave Bozeman alone. I cant stand white supremacist groups. If they find out that I'm part Mexican, they will hang me.
I once read an article and saw a movie about hate groups existing in Montana, but they are usually confined or more so in and around Great Falls, which is why I dont ever want to go there. I will try to avoid it if I can. Are they now moving south? And of all things, why Bozeman?

Lets get one thing straight and I have said this numerous times: the whites are the invaders in this country. The Indians were here first. This is their land and always has been. And who discovered the new world? It was us, the Spanish. Look at Christopher Columbus. And if whites would think back to its earliest ancestors, they came from people of color. Human beings came from Africa originally. The reason their skin got so white was because humans migrated north into Europe where the sun is not as potent.
So there is color in their background, and yet some of them want to fight against them. People are just ignorant. IMO, people like that should be wiped off the face of the earth.

I miss school

This is one of those days that I wish I was still in school. At least it was never boring and I always had homework. I know I cant always have my way, but spare me. I am trying to leave for Bozeman next year. Now I cant go until next spring, and that is a long ways away. Well, at least I can rest. And when I do go back, I will have homework up to my ears. I wont have time for nothing. But it will be worth it when I graduate....finally.
We are planning to head to Bozeman in January (if we can fight the cold) so that Timmyfan can explore the film making course. It will be a roll of the dice whether she likes it or not. The decision is hers. But at least get a first look at what they do and all that other cool stuff. I would like to at least give Timmyfan something to think about: If she does go for it, UMG Studios will become a reality and she just might make the big bucks.
If not, she can stay here and go into medical billing. That too is a very good position and she can work at home, which I think is more convenient for her in the long run.
But its Timmyfan's life, and the decision about her future is entirely hers. I cant make the decision for her, its not my department. I will however give her support in whatever she chooses.

what the???????

by the number of hits, and responses on this site, looks like if your not an animal who cares

This was posted by wolfmtnlady on the Y-net forum in response to a news story about a 6 year old boy that floated away in a homemade balloon. Everybody thinks she is a jerk for bringing that up.

Sure we love our animals, I know I do. But there are people who do care. I still think its sad when children die so young because they never really got to experience life.

But she thinks that just because this did not happen to an animal, that no one on the Y-net forum cares. A wolf or bear dies in the park becomes a lead story on the forum. But a 6 year old kid apparently gets hurt or killed (he was found alive, hiding in the attic at his home), wolfmtnlady thinks people dont give a damn.

There are people on the forum who have kids of their own, and I am sure that they would think that if something like that happened to their kids, they would care. Believe me, if I had kids, I would think the same thing too. True, I may not go for these charities set up to help children, but that doesnt mean I dont like children. And I think that wolfmtnlady needs to fix that statement and think before she posts it.

I wanted to have kids when I was younger, but that feeling went out of me sometime ago. I was always afraid that I would not have a totally healthy kid, and the fact that my child could also inherit my problem as well, and I would not know how to handle it. Thats the thing with dogs, you dont have to worry too much, and it hardly cost anything to raise dogs.

Now, sometimes I do regret not bringing a child into this world, but I love my dogs, and thats good enough for me.

Fun with 20 year olds

I am having my fun with these 20 year olds on Facebook. I swear they are so dumb and immature, but it gives me a chance to say that older people rule!

Lastnight, I posted something on the 2012 wall on Facebook, and some dumbass named Anthony gets on there and calls me fat, ugly, and even has the nerve to say that I have a mustache, like some kind of damn circus freak. I told him that he better stop and shutup and stop judging people on how they look. I also told him that I was too old to fight with him, but he wouldnt stop. So I did the next best thing: I blocked him. Soon another idiot named Michael really puts the bite on me and says all kinds of disgusting things, and I blocked him too. I will bet that both of those guys are 20 year olds. But I will tell you, I was having fun telling them what I really think about them.

And just now, some "kid" named Karl sends me messages asking me if I was a fag or if I was fat. I told him I am fat, do you have a problem with that? Then he' saying he's horny and that he has a girl friend. Then he calles me a fag. I tell you he has no respect for elders, and if he calls me a fag one more time, I will break both his arms. I told him that he better leave me alone and that he stick with his own kind. I will block him if he ever bothers me again. But I am having fun calling him every name in the book.

I was 20 years old once and I was the same way, so I know for a fact that everybody goes through that "stupidity" stage. Its just so fun for an older person like me in her 40s for crying out loud to put those 20 year olds in their place. I tell you they deserve it. They havent got the sense that God gave a slug. I dare them to make me look stupid.

One thing I love telling 20 year olds is that they dont ever get back to me until they "grow up." And I hope they do when they get to be my age. But sometimes thats not always true. I have even heard of 50 year olds that act like dumbasses, and I tell them that I am much younger and more mature than they are, and I expect them to behave a little bit better than me. But what can I say, men especially never grow up.

I may be more comfortable with women than men, but that does NOT make me a lesbian. I dont like the idea of two men or two women kissing each other, I believe marriage is between a man and a woman, and I am not too fond of gay rights. So why does Karl think I am a fag? Probably because he doesnt have anything better to do than to act stupid.

swine flu in MT

http://www.missoulian.com/news/state-and-regional/article_49eeb606-b45d-11de-a1af-001cc4c03286.html

Here is an article that one of my Y-net buddies posted on Facebook. It appears that swine flu has already hit parts of Montana. I am more afraid that Bozeman could be next, and then what will happen? Now would be a great time to get the swine flu vaccines, preferably before I leave for Bozeman.
But I have always been a very healthy person, never caught anything massive before in my life. But swine flu does not discriminate. It can turn a person like me into a bed ridden patient in minutes. The worst I ever got was a bad chest cold 20 years ago, and it only lasted for about 5 days. I get colds every now and then that only lasts 3 days. I have the better genes in my family.
So far, the swine flu hasnt reached Ocean Shores, but that doesnt mean that it will never get here. Its only a matter of time. There are some cases of it in this state, so its like prepare yourselves and get the vaccine ASAP.

My first blog

Welcome all, my name is Mikessa and I would like to welcome you to my blog. I will post just about anything that I can talk about. But mostly I am making a blog for my Y-net buddies to view. I dont have myspace anymore, so I gotta post something.
